Technology Bootcamp

The current coronavirus pandemic has amplified the need for schools to be technologically savvy to meet the needs of children as staff work remotely. I sought opportunities to improve the social media presence of our school and signed up for a course titled
" Developing and Growing Personal Learning Networks for School Leaders" prior to this crisis. I consider myself to have intermediate social media skills and looked forward to learning about various methods to increase St. Clair County Head Start's Social Media presence.

The most important things I have learned were how to "tweet" , create a blog, and create podcasts. These lessons were immediately implemented to  help our program communicate with parents and our community during our current school closing. We plan to refine the use of our social media outlets and improve our consistency of posting over the next few weeks. The action plan posted below describes our goal and activities.

The plan and course resources will be shared with staff. Professional development will be conducted to encourage the professional use of social media. I have gained valuable information from this course and look forward to expanding my personal learning network.
